Senator David Vitter Breaks His Silence

United State Senator David Vitter spoke publicly for the first time about his admitted ties to a Washington, D.C. prostitution ring during a 5:00pm news conference in Metairie. Senator Vitter and his wife both spoke to the media, saying they felt it was important to spend time last week with their kids. Vitter reiterated he is "completely responsible" for his part in what happened, but stated the stories about his connection to a madam in New Orleans are not true. He has been in seclusion since last Monday night, when he acknowledged his dealings with the escort service. He says he's returning to Washington, D.C. tomorrow for votes in the Senate. Please tell us what you thought of the speech in the comment section below.

Vitter is a loser. He should resign. When your power and argument is based on morals, family values, and such, if you lose credibility on those issues, your power is lost as well. He can no longer help LA and should get out of the way for someone who can. For those of you who want him to hold out until a republican can be appointed, maybe you should put your values ahead of your party affiliation.

Vitter is a hard working, accomplished senator. We are fortunate to have him represent our state and fight for immigration reform. His private matters are irrelevant.

i believe that what ever Vitter or anyone else does off the job is their business. if his wife can forgive him then that should be all that matters.

I HAVE TWO WORDS FOR YOU, BILL CLINTON. DAVID VITTER IS TAKING RESONSIBILITY FOR HIS ACTIONS UNLIKE THE FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE U.S. WHO I MIGHT ADD GOT A FREE PASS FOR HIS AFFAIR. DAVID VITTERS WIFE SHOULD BE THE ONLY ONE TO HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT IT. AFTER ALL, HE IS HUMAN AND HE IS A MALE. LEAVE DAVID VITTERS PRIVATE LIFE PRIVATE.

Vitter’s wife really didn't appear to be all that accepting of her husband's philandering. Her body language told a different story than her mouth. Skeletons in the closet always come to light; he should resign and be done with it.

Vitter's situation is worse than Clinton's in that he campaiged on wholesome family values, faith and being a model citizen and being a family man. Last time I checked puchasing sexual services was still illegal in DC, while recieving them for free while married might be a moral lapse, it wasn't a legal or hypocritcal one. Also Wendy Vitter claimed she was different from Hillary in that if she caught her husband doing as Clinton had done to Hillary she'd have Bobbitted him. I hope for his sake, she's proven to be as much of a liar as her husband. :)

A politician can not campaign on morality and family values and do the opposite. It makes people question everything Vitter says. What can and can we not believe. He has already admitted to misrepresenting himself once on this issue, what other issues has he not been caught on yet?

Of course, people's private matters are their own. Technically, Bill Clinton was persecuted for lying under oath, not his affair. Technically. The same should go here, though. One shouldn't care exactly what goes on in this man's private life or marriage. One should care, however, that he has no problem being exactly the opposite of what he says he is, to the point of commiting a crime in soliciting sex, with no remorse until he has been caught. Regardless of party affiliation, you should agree that this man should not be in power if you care about the power he weilds. Conservatives have a chance to show the strength of their morals and family values by being consistent on this issue, but repeatedly give moral passes to Conservative leaders when this was the one issue they still haven't let go of with Clinton, years later.
